CM hosts lunch for Priyanka

Srinagar, Apr 18: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday hosted lunch for Priyanka Gandhi and her family at Dachigam National Park here.
Sources said that Priyanka, her husband Robert Wadera and their two children, Raihan and Miraya arrived at the national park in the afternoon amidst tight security. The Chief Minister, who is a close friend of Priyanka’s brother Rahul Gandhi, joined them there and took them around the park.
Later Omar hosted a luncheon at the Rest House of the park for the guests, sources said.
They said no civilian was allowed to enter the park till the VIPs were there. “Three-tier security arrangement had been put at place to ensure hassle-free Dachigam visit of Priyanka’s family,” sources said.
“Dachigam National Park was the favourite destination of Priyanka’s grandmother and former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi,” a senior Congress leader said.
Later Chief Minister dropped Priyanka and her family at Lalit Grand Palace hotel where they are putting up. “After spending some time with them Omar left for Jammu,” they added.
Priyanka Gandhi, the daughter of United Progressive Alliance Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, had arrived in the Valley on Friday for a holiday.
PRIYANKA CELEBRATES HUSBAND’S BIRTHDAY
Priyanka Gandhi celebrated the birthday of her husband, Robert Wadera, at the Lalit Grand Palace hotel here Sunday evening, sources told Greater Kashmir.
They said the party was strictly a private affair. “Only close friends of the Nehru family were invited,” sources added.
