107 poultry projects underway

Srinagar, Apr 1: To boost the poultry industry and fulfil the requirements of mutton in the valley, the National Cooperative Development Corporation, New Delhi with the coordination of Central Cooperative bank has decided to establish 107 poultry projects in the valley by providing a loan component of Rs. 15.15 crore for the purpose. This, according to an official statement, was stated during an awareness camp at Rajbagh organised by Central Cooperative Bank. The camp was presided over by Registrar Cooperatives,   G.N. Sofi. A large number of members of poultry cooperative societies and officers of Cooperative Bank attended the camp. On the occasion, Registrar Cooperatives said that 29 poultry cooperative societies have been sanctioned out of which eight have started to give out production and are producing 8 lakh poultry birds annually.
