Envtl parks in each district soon: Altaf

Jammu, Apr 1: The Forest Minster, Mian Altaf today said the government would develop environmental parks in each district across the J&K. 
 Exploring the possibility for developing an environmental park over 30-kanals of Forest land at Bhawani Nagar, Janipur here, Altaf said the project work would start soon and all measures would be taken to protect the flora and fauna.
 He asked the Director Environment to come up with a plan so that it could serve the purpose of preserving the environment and carving out space for the people to enjoy nature.
 He asked the people to co-operate for the park development adding a network of such parks would be developed in each districts of the state in a phased manner.
 He said such parks were effective tools of environment awareness where the people enjoy nature and learn about its different aspects.  He said the department of environment and remote sensing had so far established nine environment parks in the state adding the work on two new environment parks, at Ambika Mata, Billawar and MIG Colony, Bemina, Srinagar had been taken up and are nearing completion.
