Srinagar, Apr 1: The mother of senior trade union leader, JCC senior leader, EJAC general secretary and Municipal Employees’ Union president Haji Bashir Ahmad passed away on Thursday.
People from various walks of life including political leaders, bureaucrats, trade union leaders, scholars, intellectuals and a large number of employees participated in the Nimaz-e-Jinaza of deceased which was led by Peer Saifullah.
The JKLF chairman Muhammad Yaseen Malik, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, EJAC (Q) president Abdul Qayoom Wani, the deputy commissioner, Srinagar, Meraj Ahmad Kukroo, former Mayor, Salman Ali Sagar and Tufail Ahmad Matoo were among the prominent who attended the Nimaz-e-Jinaza.
Municipal Sanitary Supervisors’ Union, at a condolence meeting held here with acting president Bashir Ahmad Khan in chair, expressed deep sorrow over the demise.
The meeting was among others attended by Nazir Ahmad Sheera, Nazir Ahmad Dar, Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh and Muhammad Shafi Khan. The members prayed for the peace to departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, the Fateh Khawani of the deceased, according to family sources, will be held on April 4, Sunday, at 10.30 AM at her ancestral graveyard, Kant Paristan, Safakadal, Srinagar.
