‘SMC employees on strike today’

Srinagar, Apr 21: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation employees said they will observe a complete strike on Thursday against” police excesses and high handedness of some SMC officials”.
 The Municipal Coordination Committee, General Secretary, Shabir Ahmed Sofi said a complete strike would be observed adding that all the wing presidents of other associations of the SMC have supported the strike call.
 “We are being victimized only because the JCC control room during the past days strike by government employees was in the SMC office premises,” the employees said.
 Scores of SMC employees were wounded in police action at the SMC office at Karan Nagar.
