Choudhary releases 2 books, magazine

Rajouri, Apr 21: The Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Vice-Chancellor, Masud A Choudhary today released the books “Jadid Arbi Shayri” and Urdu translation of Ghali Muhammad Amin’s “Tarikh-e-Madina Munawara.”
The books have been authored by varsity’s Associate professor and Head Department of Arabic Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum.
Masud also released the maiden issue of monthly wall magazine “Al Kalam”.
Addressing the gathering, Choudhary highlighted the importance of Arabic for better understanding of Islamic literature and requirement of Arabic knowing people all over the globe. Stressing for the promotion of language, he promised support to the Department of Arabic in strengthening their academic standards. He emphasized the need for creating employable work force to meet the emerging requirements.
Choudhary lauded the Department’s initiative in starting a short-term certificate courses in Arabic on part-time basis. Emphasizing the needs for training students in Arabic language, the VC also announced a scholarship to non-Muslim student interested in seeking admission in MA Arabic.
He distributed mementoes and certificates to the winners and participants of Qirat and Gazal competitions organized by the Department. Dr. Shams Kamal briefed the audience about his books.
