Geelani condemns Peshawar blast

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Apr 21: The Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani has expressed grief over the killing of 27 persons in a suicide blast during a rally of Jamaat-e-Islami in Peshawar, Pakistan, terming it condemnable.
“The situation in Pakistan is extremely painful and worrisome for us. The country is passing through a very difficult phase because of its clever enemies and foolish friends. If the wisdom does not dawn upon its rulers and people immediately, nobody can save the country from being disintegrated,” said Geelani, according to Hurriyat statement, adding “Pakistan has been trapped in international conspiracy and many countries including its neighbours are directly and indirectly planning to destabilise it. The most unfortunate part of the situation is that some of its own people are lending support to the conspirators and enemies in the garb of serving Islam.”
Geelani has appealed the Ulema-e-Haq of Pakistan to rise above their Maslaki interests and fight together the forces inimical to the interests of their country. He exhorted upon the Pakistani rulers not to close the doors of talks with the annoyed people.
Geelani has condemned the drone attacks by the US troops, terming these as unjustified and demonstration of terrorism.
