Hurriyat (M) to hold silent protest on Saturday
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Apr 21: Hurriyat Conference (M) is organizing a silent protest on April 23 at Pratap Park here to demonstrate solidarity with detainees lodged in jails and against the alleged human rights violation taking place in Kashmir everyday.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Hurriyat executive council held here today with its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in chair.
The members on the occasion held that Kashmir issue had been the cause of perennial tension between India and Pakistan which had so far culminated into three full scale and several other low intensity wars between them and future was still uncertain.
The members hoped that the prime ministers of India and Pakistan would meet on the sidelines of SAARC Summit being held in Bhutan to resume meaningful comprehensive talks to put an end to the killings of people on both sides, stop human rights violations in Kashmir and resolve Kashmir issue.
Besides Mirwaiz, the meeting was attended by Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Aga Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Sufvi, Moulana Masroor Abas Ansari, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Muhammad Musadiq Adil. Meanwhile, Mirwaiz has paid glowing tributes to the memory of great philosopher poet Alama Dr Sir Muhamamd Iqbal on his 72nd death anniversary, describing him as Tarjumal-ul-Islam and Shair-e-Quran.
