JAKAF stage silent sit-in against HR abuses

Srinagar, Apr 21: The Joint Association of Kashmiri Affected Families (JAKAF) on Wednesday held a silent sit-in amidst heavy rains at Partap Park here against the custodial disappearances, human rights violations and alleged torture in Jammu and Kashmir.
The spokesperson of the association told reporters that the purpose of holding the sit-in was to draw world attention towards human rights violations.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief patron of JAKAF Zaffar Akbar Bhat denounced the incidents of killing of innocent Kashmiri youths in Srinagar, Sopur and Varmul and an aged person in Lolab by the troops.
“The people of Kashmir will continue their struggle till its logical end and use of brute force cannot deter their resolve,” he added.
