Justice Saikia to assume office of CJ today

Srinagar, Apr 21: Dr Justice Aftab Hussain Saikia, who was administered oath by Governor, N N Vohra last week, will assume office as Chief Justice of High Court here tomorrow.
Dr Justice Saikia, B Sc (Dist.), LL. M, was born on April 7, 1949. He was appointed as a permanent Judge of the Guwahati High Court on November 15, 2000. He was elevated as Chief Justice, High Court of Sikkim on March 7, 2009. Justice Saika was transferred to the High Court on March 30 this year and took over the charge of the office of the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir on April 13.
