Singh, Gilani to meet in Bhutan: Pak

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

New Delhi, Apr 21: Pakistan Wednesday said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his counterpart Yusuf Raza Gilani would meet in Bhutan next week on the sidelines of SAARC summit and hoped some “positive results” would come out of that to set trends for the future.
“I am sure that meeting between both the Prime Ministers in Bhutan will help us to set some trends for future and I am sure there will be some positive results of that meeting,” Pakistan’s Minister for Population Firdous Ashiq Awan said here.
“At least, we should interact and listen to each other,” she said during an interaction with FICCI.
Singh and Gilani would be in Bhutan to attend the SAARC summit on April 28-29.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik said there was a brief interaction between the two Prime Ministers in Washington last week on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit.
Singh and Gilani ran into each other twice, shook hands and exchanges pleasantries.
“We all there said that dialogue is the only way forward and we are hoping that we would be back on track in terms of our dialogue,” he said.
