Ajaz inaugurates horticulture centre

Jammu, Apr 22: Minister of State for Haj, Auqaf and Fisheries, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, today inaugurated a Horticulture complex at village Thakrakote, about 20 kms from here.
Addressing a public meeting, soon after the inauguration, Ajaz said that the Government was paying focused attention on boosting gainful activities in rural areas. He said that adequate infrastructure is being created to promote varied economic activities, including those associated with agriculture and its allied sectors. He called upon the local farmers to get maximum benefit of the facilities offered by the newly established Horticulture Development Centre.
Responding to the local demands, the Minister asked the concerned officers to pay the cheques for various NREGA works within 15 days. He also assured that the demand for construction of Thakarkote-Reasi road and opening of a dispensary would be taken up with concerned Departments. He also released Rs. One lakh for the construction of bridge over Thakarkote nallah.
The Minister assured that all left over school buildings would be completed within this year.
Muhammad Sultan and Keval Singh also spoke on the occasion and put forth demands and problems of the area and sought early redressal of the same.
