Hurriyat (G) reacts to NC statements

Srinagar, Apr 24: Reacting to the recent statements of National Conference leaders, Muhammad Shafi Uri and Sharief-ud-Din Sharik, about Syed Ali Shah Geelani, the Hurriyat Conference (G) said both had, in their pace to prove themselves more loyal than the king, vainly tried to distort the history and facts.
 “To prove themselves loyal to Sheikh dynasty, the duo has forgotten that those spitting in the sky only receive humiliation,” said a spokesman of the Hurriyat in a statement today, adding that “Whether Geelani Sahab says anything about NC or not, the fact remains that the history has read out its sincere verdict about this party and its leadership. The paper statements cannot change the realities nor can these shut the mouths of people.”
 “Geelani has no personal grudge with Sheikh Abdullah and his family. But whenever he speaks about the Kashmir issue and atrocities on Kashmiris, he cannot skip the role of this family,” said the spokesman, asking the NC leaders to be within their limits and not to ‘damage’ their hereafter for the Sheikh family.
