Kashmiris were implicated in Lajpat Nagar case: Farida
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Apr 25: The JK Mass Movement patron, Farida Behenji, Sunday said she along with eight Kashmiris and a man from New Delhi were implicated in 1996 Lajpat Nagar blasts.
Addressing a press conference at her residence, she said, “When the blasts occurred I was in Srinagar. Four Kashmiri youth had been arrested earlier and the rest were arrested from different parts of India and implicated in the case.”
She said though court had acq uitted her from the case, “she was not happy with the verdict as the three persons who have been sentenced to death were innocents.”
“Who will return 14-years to those who have been acquitted after spending the time in jail. Police tortured the convicts in the jail to accept the blasts responsibility and false witnesses were produced before the court,” she alleged.
Quoting example of Mirza Nissar, she said, “He was a minor when he was arrested and even didn’t know the reason for it.”
Farida alleged that after Delhi Special Court acquitted her from Lajpat Nagar blast, “police was trying to implicate her in another case. Police is claiming that they have recovered one kg of explosive from my home which is a blatant lie.”
