Chief Minister seeks report

Srinagar, Apr 26: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has taken a serious note about thrashing of the Greater Kashmir reporter, Gowhar Bhat, by police here on Monday.
“I have already asked the police for a report and the matter will be probed,” Omar told Greater Kashmir.
Meanwhile, a police handout issued here this evening said; “the Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Farooq Ahmed has taken strong notice of the alleged assault on some media personnel in Srinagar on a day when political rallies were handled professionally by police throughout Valley.”
The IGP has asked the Deputy Inspector General of Police Central Kashmir range to order a probe into the allegation and if found correct punish the delinquent, the statement said.
