Efforts afoot to cultivate apricot on large scale in JK

Bandipora, Apr 26: Efforts on large scale are afoot to grow quality Apricot in J&K. For the purpose, central government has imported 500 Apricot plants from the Republic of Armania which have been planted on experimental basis in first phase in Zakoora, Shopian, Leh, Kargil and Bandipora of Kashmir division. This, according to an official statement, was stated here today at a seminar organized to aware the progressive orchardists about the scientific methods for growing apricot. The seminar was organized jointly by the National Horticulture Board of Union Ministry and Agriculture and Horticulture departments Kashmir.
