M&RE realises Rs 316 crore revenue

Srinagar, Apr 27: The M&RE wing of the Power Development Department has earned Rs 316 crore revenue against Rs. 395 crore target during 2009-10.
Minister of State for Power Shabir Ahamad Khan was informed about this while he was reviewing the power, foodgrains and arrangements with regard to the Annual Darbar Move at winter Secretariat, Srinagar today.
The Minister was informed that out of 19 receiving stations, 14 have been completed and commissioned while 5 receiving stations would be commissioned up to July this year.
“In addition 120 sub-stations will be completed by the end of this year,” he was informed.
Regarding Prime Minister’s Package Programme, three grid stations with the capacity of 132/220KV are being commissioned during the current fiscal which include Mir Bazar, Budgam and Amargarh while out of 7 more such grid stations, Tethar and Qaimoo have being been completed and the work on other grid stations is going apace, an official statement said.
Regarding the foodgrains, the minister was informed that sufficient stocks are available in the godowns. It was told that 32.33 lakh litres of kerosene oil has been supplied to the consumers during the current month in addition, to 1.17 lakh LPG gas cylinders were provided to the consumers.
The Minister was informed by the Regional Transport Officer that the Transport operators have been directed to remain available till late hours in the evening for the facility of the Commuters.
Later, the Minister of the State impressed upon the officers to conduct face lift of all the important buildings, improve and upgradation of roads in view of the annual Darbar move. He asked the PDD authorities to ensure Power supply in all the Government quarters where Officers and officials coming with Darbar move put up in the summer capital.
