Ex-IAF officer ends life

Jammu, Apr 28: A retired Wing Commander of Indian Air Force allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance at Adhkuwari, enroute to Vaishno Devi in Katra town of district Reasi on Wednesday, police said.
Identified as J K Sharma of Bhopal, police, said he was found unconscious at a hotel room at Adhkuwari. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced as brought dead.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had allegedly consumed some poisonous substance in an ice cream, which has been sent to the laboratory for testing.
Sharma, who entered into a business after retirement, was allegedly duped of Rs 5 crores by his business partner, which may have forced him to commit suicide, sources said adding, a suicide note had also been recovered from the room.
“The deceased had come alone to the Vaishno Devi,” police said, adding” His family members have been informed and the body would be handed over to them tomorrow after legal formalities.”
