Court directs police to produce Sumji
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar: The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Budgam has taken strong note of the failure of police to produce senior Hurriyat leader, Ghulam Nabi Sumji before the Court.
A local news agency KNS said the CJM directed the chief prosecuting officer and Senior Superintendent of Central Jail to ensure his (Sumji’s) presence in the Court on next hearing.
Earlier, the Court expressed resentment over the failure of police to produce Sumji before it despite its directions.
In its arguments, the prosecution had maintained that the Court order was yet to reach the Central Jail authorities. Sumji was booked under the Public Safety Act.
