Mehfil-e-Milad at Dastgeer Sahib, Eidgah

Srinagar, Apr 4: Hundreds of people participated in the Mehfil-e-Milad held at Ziarat Sharief Dastgeer Sahib, Sariabala here today. The religious scholars and shed light on the pious life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Auqaf Dastgeer Sahib, chairman, Ch Me’raj-ud-Din Bujja thanked the administration for providing all possible facilities during the Urs and on the occasion of Mehfil Milad.
He thanked Divisional Commissioner, Naseem Lankar, IGP, Farooq Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner, Me’raj Ahmad Kakroo, SSP, Reyaz Javaid Bedar, Chief Engineers of PHE and Power, SMC and others for their cooperation.
The management also performed Dastar Bandi on the Director Information, Kh Farooq Ahmad Renzu and hailed his role as Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Cooperation.

Later, a Milad procession was also taken out in which thousands of people participated.Meanwhile, thousands of people including students from 22 educational institutions participated in the Mehfil-e-Milad at Eidgah.Renowned scholars, writers, Ulemas highlighted the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Imza of New Bonvent School, Aali Masjid; Beenish of Eves Garden School, Lal Bazaar; Mahpara of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively for their speech on ‘Wiladat-e-Mustafa (SAW) and Tahafuz-e-Khawateen.
Yawar Hayat of New Bonvent School, Muhammad Azhar of Government boys Higher Sec. School, Soura and Khadim of Children Welfare School, Badamwari won the first, second and third position respectively in Naat competition. Faizan, Rizwan, Mohsin and Najma were also awarded on the occasion.
