GCPS launches accounting, financial courses in Valley

Srinagar, Mar 5: Here is some good news for the Valley students. The Global College of Professional Studies (GCPS), a Kolkata based institute, in collaboration with Institute of Cost and Accountants of India (ICWAI) Monday launched a programme, Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) in the Valley.
 The programme comprising several courses was launched at an impressive function at a local hotel here.
 Director ICWAI, L Gurumurthy on the occasion said, “The programme covers practical knowledge of Accounting, training about taxation and generating financial data.”
 Explaining the importance of such courses, he said: “India requires at least one crore accounting technicians and CAT is an ideal course which prepares the students for it,” he added.
 President, ICWAI, G N Venkataraman said, “The Institute provides training courses for individuals and organizations. These courses are aimed at enhancing efficiency and potential in the students.”
 He said: “Our aim is to popularize this course all over India and coach students in diverse fields of Business Management, Accounting, Soft Skills, Self-Development, Fashion and Retail.”
 To mention, GCPS is offering a unique one year executive program in association with Harvey University, USA. This course shall be started in the Valley also.
 Chief Operator, GCPS, B A Khan said the ICWAI would be its recognized Oral & Coaching Centre (ROCC) for Kashmir Valley.
 He said, “GCPS offers job oriented course CAT for 10+2 and graduates. It has an advanced campus at Srinagar with four supporting counseling branches.”
 Chairman CAT, ICWAI, Balwinder Singh informed the participants about different professional courses of the Institute.
