HC orders status quo on SDA construction
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Apr 5: The High Court has directed the Sonamarg Development Authority to maintain status-quo on a construction over four kanals of land allegedly acquired by it illegally. The Court also issued notice to it for filing objections in four week.
Earlier, Nazrut-ul-Arwah a local filed an application through his counsel Zaffar Ahmad Shah before the court praying that SDA had “illegally acquired” four kanals of his land at Sonamarg. He said, “The SDA have committed acts of criminal trespass because neither it has acquired the land nor acquisition proceedings have been drawn.”
Subsequently, Court appointed Joint Registrar (Judicial) Jawad Ahmad as commissioner to ascertain the actual position of the land. Court also directed the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal to depute a Revenue Official who will visit the spot and submit a detailed report within two weeks. Court has asked the petitioner to pay Rs 10000 as fee towards the commissioner.
After hearing the submissions court directed the state to file objections in four weeks.
