NLCO hails LAWDA for Nigeen dredging
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Apr 6: The Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation has hailed the move of the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority to clean the Nigeen Lake.
The LAWDA Tuesday used two machines, which it had recently purchased, for dredging in the Nigeen Lake.
“We hail the efforts of LAWDA, it will surely help a lot in keeping the lake clean,” Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo, Chairman NLCO said.
Meanwhile, the NLCO demanded that the Pokhribal Lake, which is the outflow channel of the Dal and Nigeen lakes, also be cleaned.
“Pokhribal also needs dredging so that the Dal and Nigeen stay clean,” Wangnoo said.
It has also demanded that the authorities should also keep a check on the land filling and land encroachments in the Pokhribal lake.
