Anganwari centers in remote areas soon: Altaf

Ramban, Apr 8: The Forest and Environment Minister, Mian Altaf Ahmed today said Anganwari centres would be established in remote places particularly in Gujjar and Bakerwal areas.
 Addressing public at Ramban, he said the Government was aware about the problems of Ramban people, Gujjar and Bakerwal and other sections and had launched programme for state’s prosperity. He said all un-connected areas would be covered.
 He said the Government had initiated schemes like, NREGA and SK Employment Policy for the peoples’ betterment. He said the Forest Department had launched, CAMPA, under which various schemes had been started.
 He asked the officers to expedite the pace of work on all projects adding the un-electrified habitations would be provided solar lights after verification.
 He said sufficient timber was available at Forest Sale Depots adding the people living near forests would be provided timber on concession.
 Earlier, Altaf interacted with the Forest Officers and its allied wings and was informed that a meeting hall would be constructed at Batote, under CAMPA besides construction of an eco-tourism park at Gulabgarh and Kishtwar.

CONSERVATION OF MANSAR, SURINSAR REVIEWED
 In Jammu, the minister said that Rs 5 crore had been earmarked for conservation of Mansar and Surinsar lakes under Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Programme and Rs 1 crore had been spent on Mansar.
 Addressing officers, he said Rs 55 lakh had been sanctioned under Compensatory Aforestation Management Programme Authority for various activities in Ramnagar. He directed the officers to prepare project for conservation of Mansar and Surinsar so that it could be submitted to the GoI.
