Farooq speaks

Farooq Abdullah while defending his son as chief minister of the state, can go to any extent. In that concern, the programme on NDTV regarding the current crisis in Kashmir was a treat to watch.  When asked about the brutal killings of Kashmiris and its control thereof, Mr. Abdullah's response was the worst of its kind. Throughout the program Mr. Abdullah didn't show even a modicum of remorse for what his government has done in Kashmir. There was not an iota of sympathy or compassion for the forty devastated families of Kashmir. National conference patron's remarks were so disgusting as if he himself was not a Kashmiri but a typical right wing hindu leader of R . S . S or Bajrang Dal spewing venom against Kashmiris all along the programme. Instead, the other guests from New Delhi who don't have any remotest connection with Kashmir or Kashmiris deeply felt our pain and critcised Farooq Abdullah for supporting security forces for firing bullets in exchange of stones. And the worst statement of Mr.Farooq was when he fully defended and shielded the belligerent action of his security forces saying  " Why shouldn't the cops kill when people are burning the government property". I want to ask Mr.Abdullah that does burning of government property give you the license to kill people and even if for the sake of argument you are right, the masses did it  after repeated and continuous human rights violation by the police (i.e the 53rd day since the violence started this summer). What about those 35 innocent people who were killed when not a single government article was touched. What about the school going student like Tufail Mattoo and others (as the host put it). What about innocent girls like Afroza and Fancy  Jan who had no connection with stone pelting at all. When asked by the host about your enjoyable trip to London when Kashmir was burning, like a typical politician said that 'it was not my duty to be there, the  government was there to check and control the crisis' and when asked about the condemnation of killings in Kashmir you in no moment changed your colour like a chameleon while saying   'Yes my government has condemned the killings'. Mr.Abdullah no one can blow hot and cold in one breath the way you do.
It ' s not you and your government which is to blame for any shocking or irresponsible remark of yours. It is actually those who chose you to rule. Now they are reaping the bitter of what they decided to do themselves. Their own elected government is doing its best to provide what they had promised. Bijli, Sadak, Paani and the blood of innocent children that flows in the streets of Kashmir.
