GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Aug 10: The Jamait-e- Islami (Hind) has expressed concern over the killings of civilians in the Valley and termed it as consequences of wrong policies of the Government and unbridled powers to the troopers.
In a session of its Central Majlis-e-Shoora, the Jamait-Islami (Hind) passed resolutions maintained that the Government can’t escape for its responsibilities to protect the lives of civilians blaming the pro-freedom leaders and external forces for the ongoing unrest in the Valley.
“It is known fact that the movement of Kashmiris is indigenous and ongoing agitation is their spontaneous reaction,” it said.
The organization hailed the statement of Home Minister, P Chidambram that there was need to win the hearts of Kashmiris.
“However, in the first phase it is imperative to give standing orders to troopers and cops to desist from using excessive force on unarmed Kashmiris. New Delhi should talks to every group in Kashmir and for that it is imperative to create conducive situation. At the same time, we appeal the Kashmiris to keep the protests peaceful.”
The organization also demanded withdrawal of troopers from the civilian areas and desisting from arbitrary arrests of youth and imposition of curfew.
