Mirwaiz, Rehmani pay tributes to Sheikh Aziz
Srinagar, Aug 11: Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq paid rich tributes to senior pro-freedom leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his second death anniversary.
In a statement, Mirwaiz termed Aziz as Shaheed Azeemat and said Sheikh was embodiment of sacrifice, commitment and determination. Mirwaiz said Sheikh was martyred in 2008 Muzaffarabad Chalo march under a deep rooted conspiracy to suppress the Hurriyat leadership and weaken the resolve of people towards freedom.
Meanwhile, the chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, while paying glowing tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his secondary anniversary, said the current mass upsurge in Jammu and Kashmir had revived more peacefully and vigorously the spirit of the past Intifada.
Rehmani, according to League statement, eulogized the great sacrifices of sons of Kashmir who laid down their lives including those 51 youth who were martyred by armed forces during the last 6 weeks.
He said the nation would never forget teenage patriots and noble sons like Fida Nabi and Syed Farrukh Bukhari who were martyred brutally by the forces in Qamarwari Srinagar and Kreeri, Varmul. “Under the prevailing shoot-at-sight policy of the Indian regime, the Prime Minister’s message from Delhi to Kashmiris was nothing but mockery of peace and non-violence. It is not the job seeking agitation in Kashmir as claimed by the Prime Minister,” he said, adding that “Can teenagers die for jobs?”
