3 militants killed: Army

Bandipore, Aug 12: Army on Thursday said that it killed three militants in north Kashmir’s Bandipore district.
“Army troopers of 6-Para cordoned off Chathak Behak in the Lab Kachal forests last night and launched searches. Militants present there opened fire on the troops which was retaliated triggering an encounter in which three unidentified militants were killed,” a top army official told Greater Kashmir.
He said the identity of the slain militants was being ascertained. Army’s Srinagar based spokesman Lt Col J S Brar told PTI that three militants were killed in the gunfight.
