Islamabad, Aug 12: Voicing its full support to the ongoing peaceful struggle in Kashmir, the AJK cabinet met on Thursday and passed a unanimous resolution denouncing what it termed as the gross human rights violations by Indian forces in the troubled region.
Chaired by Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, the cabinet meeting was held at Muzaffarabad, which was specially attended by AJK president Raja Zulqarnain Khan.
The cabinet minister offered gratitude to the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization for his concern over the deteriorating human rights situation in the valley and appealed him to call an emergency session of the UN Security Council as Kashmir already existed on UNSC agenda as an international dispute.
The maiden session of the Cabinet adopted a resolution seeking international community’s support for the relief and rehabilitation of millions of people, who have been terribly hit by flash-floods and the torrential rains across Pakistan and AJK.
Expressing deep shock and grief over the loss of human lives, the participants of the meeting condoled with the flood affected families.
The session made a passionate appeal to the international community, particularly philanthropists and the charity donors around the world to extend generous assistance for the relief and rehabilitation of millions of flood victims.
They also thanked Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for visiting AJK and providing immediate relief to the flood victims of the region.
Lauding the formation of coalition government in the region, they said that incumbent regime would strive for the greater solidarity, integrity and security of Pakistan under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan in AJK.
