Trauma centre
It is really unfortunate that the decades old SMHS hospital is without a trauma centre. Government must look into the issue and ensure that Shreen Bagh Trauma Centre comes up as soon as possible. For the past two decades, hospitals receive trauma patients every now and then. But what is usually observed is that they die mostly in transit. By now SMHS should have a full-fledged Trauma Centre with adequate staff and infrastructure. If the government is facing shortage of traumatologists, why doesn’t it engage some professionals on ad hoc basis or why don’t they go for permanent recruitment of traumatologists? The government cannot afford to take this area lightly, for, it concerns the lives of hundreds of trauma patients.
