Essential drugs rushed to SKIMS
New Delhi, Aug 13: Union Health Ministry has rushed essential drugs and surgical disposables to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura in Srinagar for the treatment of injured persons undergoing treatment there, an official spokesman said on Friday.
He said the consignment was airlifted from here and delivered at SKIMS on the instructions of Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
“The director SKIMS had requested the Minister during his recent visit to Leh and Srinagar to make available essential drugs and surgical disposables in view of the shortage of medicines in the Valley,” the spokesman added.
He said that Minister has directed the concerned officials to also make available, if required, any additional quantity of medicines and life saving drugs to the state government and SKIMS.
