Why celebrate?
This refers to the recent calendar put forward by Hurriyat Conference. We are asked to celebrate 14 August i.e. Pakistani Independence Day as ‘yawm-i-istiqlal’. It is high time our leaders decide what they want. Freedom or Pakistan. The innocent people who died in this on-going movement gave up their lives for freedom of their motherland. Every person is shouting slogans of Azadi and Azadi means complete freedom-Freedom from India and Pakistan both.
There is no point in all this agitation if the end result would be Pakistan because that country is in a mess worse than ours. The country is flooded and the President is enjoying in London. Now the Government which does not care for its own people, can't care for us. Moreover, had Pakistan really wanted to help us out, they would have surely done much more than what they have done till now. And thus, by taking such steps the Hurriyat is not only changing the real meaning of Azadi, but it is also an insult to the memory of all the martyrs who gave up their life fighting for Kashmir and not Pakistan.
