GK, Uzma copies seized

Srinagar, Aug 14: Police on Saturday seized the copies of Greater Kashmir and Kashmir Uzma in Sumbal area of Bandipora district.
“Police seized the copies and didn’t allow the vehicle carrying them to move ahead of Sumbal,” news agency owners said. This is for the 10 time during the recent unrest that police has seized the copies of these newspapers.
The news agency owners and locals have condemned the act of the police saying it was anti-people. It may be recalled that Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Khursheed Ahmad Ganai,during a recent meeting with senior journalists of the Valley had assured that there won’t be any curbs on press or on the distribution of newspapers.
