Bar Threatens Protests After Wednesday
Srinagar, Aug 14: The High Court Bar Association Saturday threatened it would take to roads if the state government won’t release its president Mian Abdul Qayoom and general secretary G N Shaheen till Wednesday unconditionally.
The vice-president of Bar Association Ejaz Bedar told Greater Kashmir that Bar would continue its strike.
“We will protest on roads and government will be responsible for the consequences,” he said, adding that the government was not implementing the court orders of shifting their colleagues from Jammu to Srinagar.
Ejaz said Bar had filed a petition before the High Court on Friday against state government for not obeying court order of shifting of Mian Qayoom.
He said Bar would also file the same petition on Monday in G N Shaheen’s case. The executive and advisory body committees of the Bar appealed the Bar Associations in district headquarters to visit the bereaved families, who lost their dear ones in the ongoing uprising and ensure registration of FIRs.
