Ministers hoist tricolour at different places
‘DIALOGUE ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE KASHMIR’
Srinagar, Aug 15: Various ministers on Sunday hoisted the tri-colour at different places on the I-Day.
PULWAMA
Underlining the importance of dialogue in solving various problems, the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Sagar asked all the parties to come forward for resolution of all the issues confronting the state.
Hosting the tri-colour in Pulwama, Sagar came down heavily on those preaching hartal politics and said that by resorting to such tactics, they were holding the people hostage to their whims.
VARMUL
The Minister for PHE, Taj Mohi-ud-Din unfurled the tricolour at District Police Lines, Varmul and took salute at the march past.
Taj said the dialogue holds key to resolve issues amicably and appealed all shades of opinion to rise to the occasion for brining back normalcy in the state.
He said the government had decided to recruit 50,000 youth in different departments within the next few months.
GANDERBAL
Amid shutdown, Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad hoisted the tricolour in Ganderbal and said, “In the last 63 years, India has witnessed development on all fronts.”
“We are committed to further consolidate our democratic institutions. With the establishing of Central University at Ganderbal, the district will march towards progress. Work on the New Ganderbal Hydro Power Project will kick off soon and other developmental projects will be started”, he said.
SHOPIAN
After unfurling the tricolour in Shopian, the CAPD and Transport Minister, Qamar Ali Akhoon expressed grief over the recent killings in valley and appealed to the people to supplement Government efforts for restoring normalcy in the Valley.
He appealed to the mainstream parties to come to the fore for participating in the dialogue process for resolving the issues.
KUPWARA
Unfurling the tricolour in Kupwara, Agriculture Minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir said J&K was a political problem and dialogue was the effective way to resolve the issue.
ISLAMABAD
The Education Minister, Peerzada Muhammad Sayeed hoisted the tricolour in Islamabad and expressed sorrow over the recent killings in the state. He said the coalition was committed for rebuilding the infrastructure and creating employment for the youth.
KULGAM
Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo hoisted the flag in Kulgam and said under Omar Abdullah, an era of development had dawned in the state.
She said all sorts of development were incomplete without its efforts being felt at grass root level.
BANDIPORE
Minister for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi hoisted the flag at SK Sports Stadium Bandipore and sought people’s cooperation for making the J&K a welfare and prosperous state. He said the Government was determined for equal development of all the three regions.
KARGIL
Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan hoisted the tricolour in Kargil and expressed grief over the loss of lives in Leh due to the cloudburst.
LEH
Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh, Chering Dorjay hoisted the flag and observed two minute silence in memory of those killed in Leh. Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora was also present.
