Kashmiri students meet intelligentsia, register protest

New Delhi, Aug 17: The students of various educational institutions of the valley today registered protest over the ‘criminal silence’ of India’s mainstream political parties at the rights violations committed by armed forces in Kashmir.
 Wearing black arm bands as a mark of protest against the civilian killings, during an interaction with the civil society, politicians and media personalities here, the students’ delegation apprised them about the current unrest in the Valley.
 The group is scheduled to meet Home Minister P Chidambaram and Chief Election Commissioner of India, Dr S Y Qurashi and other prominent media leaders.
