Locals help SMHS attendants
Srinagar:Amid continued siege and pouring in of wounded in the protests, the locals of areas adjoining SMHS Hospital at Karan Nagar are providing relief to the patients’ attendants.
On the third day of curfew it was the turn of Khanqah-e-Sokhta Nawa Kadal and neighborhood to feed the needy.
The locals collected money and edibles to prepare meals for the attendants who are unable to get assistance.
Finally, the locals ferried the cooked food to the hospital and distributed among the people.
“Islam doesn’t teach us that we will have meals but our neighbor will sleep empty stomach. So even if we are left with a single bread loaf we’ll share it,” said a Molvi, a part of the relief committee.
