Gastroenteritis kills 2 in Budgam
Srinagar, Aug 19: Two people have reportedly died and at least 500 have been admitted in various hospitals due to outbreak of “Gastroenteritis” in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Reports said Gastroenteritis has broken out in at least half-a-dozen villages of Budgam districts including Reyar, Waterhaal, Kralnaar, Hardpanzu, and Sholipora.
“Jana Begum wife of Noor Reshi and Hasina Begum, wife of Muhammad Amin Dar, both residents of Waterhaal, died yesterday,” sources said.
The Chief Medical Officer, Budgam, Dr Muhammad Abdullah confirmed the outbreak of the disease.
“Two people have died while 473 people have been admitted in various hospitals. All the admitted patients complained of diarrhea and vomiting,” he added.
