Govt trying to malign Aasiya: Masarat Alam
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Aug 19: Senior leader of Muslim League and Hurriyat (G) general secretary, Masarat Alam on Thursday accused New Delhi of ‘hatching a conspiracy’ to defame the Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi.
In a statement, Alam said people of J&K were aware about the sacrifices rendered by Aasiya and her husband Dr Muhammad Qasim who is behind bars for the last 17 years.
“Aasiya herself has been in jail and presently she is facing tremendous hardships for being active in the Quit Jammu and Kashmir Movement. Government of India is hell bent up on defaming pro-Islam and pro-freedom leadership. We condemn this cheap propaganda and salute Aasiya, her husband and her sons, Muhammad Qasim and Ahmad,” he said.
“We assure her (Aasiya) that nobody is going to be impressed by this cheap propaganda. People of the state very well know who has been exploiting their aspirations and who is killing children,” he added.
