Kashmiri students' arrest
Bail application comes up for hearing
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Aug 19: The bail application of 14 Kashmiris students who were arrested in Jammu for staging protests over the civilian killings in the Valley, came up for hearing in the Court of CJM Jammu here today.
Reports said Advocate Raina who plead the bail application told the Court that it was not a crime to stage peaceful protests and the Constitution also provides freedom of expression. After hearing the arguments, the Court reserved its order. The decision on the bail application will be announced on Friday.
Pertinently, the arrest of the students has evoked strong resentment with their parents accusing the Jammu police of implicating them at the behest of some Jammu based political parties.
