Mughal Road to be opened by Oct: Minister

Srinagar, Aug 19: The Minister for R&B, G M Saroori today said the prestigious Mughal Road would be thrown open for traffic by October.
Saroori was reviewing the work on the project during a meeting in which he was told that the road would be fully macadamized within a year. The work on Poonch side has been expedited while on Shopian side the work is already going on apace, he was informed.
He was told that there were no obstacles for the construction of the road as the Wildlife department had given green signal for the execution of the project long back following clearance from the Supreme Court and Empowered Committee. The DPR for the construction of a tunnel at Pir Ki Gali has not been prepared yet, however the preliminary report for the same stands formulated and Chief Engineer Mughal Road has been asked to prepare its design, the meeting was informed
