We are safe in Valley: Sikhs

Srinagar, Aug 20: The Sikh community on Friday said that they were safe  in Valley.
“We don’t have any problem here, we are living here for the past 20 years in the midst of so much of militancy, and we never faced any such problems. We are safe,” said Indumeet Singh, the Chairman of the United Sikh Front Kashmir.
Meanwhile, President of the Sikh Coordination Committee Jagmohan Singh Raina said the Sikh community had remained a part of the ongoing movement since 1990 and has given immense sacrifices for it.
“The threatening letters received by our community seem to have been drafted by outsiders. It is handiwork of miscreants who want to communalize the ongoing agitation,” a local news agency KNS quoted Raina as having said.
When Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik went on hunger strike, Sikhs were a part of it, he said. “Members of our community have worked in a close coordination with late Sheikh Abdul Aziz.”
