Kashmir not a simple issue: Azad
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
Kolkata, Aug 21: Senior Congress leader and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad Saturday said the Kashmir issue may not have an easy solution, but there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
“The issue is not as simple as you think,” he told newsmen when asked what steps the Centre was taking to resolve the problems in the trouble-torn State.
Noting that 62 people were killed since the outbreak of street protests in the Valley from June 11, the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said; “this is unfortunate. I hope there will be light at the end of the tunnel.”
Azad said all-party meetings had been held at the level of the state chief minister and the prime minister. “A number of suggestions came up in those meetings. They are being implemented.”
Violence rocked the Kashmir valley following the death of a teenager, allegedly after being hit by a teargas shell, at the Gani Memorial stadium.
