Wrong decision
The recent decision of the BOSE to give ‘wide choice’ to the students in question papers amounts to curtailment of syllabus. The decision clearly indicates that the Board attaches more importance to examination results than the actual process of teaching and learning. It appears that the decision has been taken in a hurry without proper application of mind and announced at an inappropriate time. It would have been better to wait and watch the situation for some time more. At this stage, the decision has tempted the students to prepare only term first for their final examination leaving a significant proportion of syllabus untouched. At a later stage it would indeed have resulted in a different but positive impact.
