“The army unit (4 para) had raided the hospital on Monday evening to look for a injured militant. In fact, police had no information about the raid ,” he said.
Police took a strong note of the SOP violation and registered the case FIR No. 33/2010 under sections 147, 447,A, 323 and 453 against the army unit at police station Karan Nagar.
The army unit on Monday evening had raided the hospital and launched a search operation to look for a militant whom it claimed was injured in the gunfight in north Kashmir’s Sopur town.
“They had created ruckus in the hospital. There were also complaints that they (troopers) damaged hospital property and misbehaved with the patients and the doctors,” the official said.
Police said the injured militant is in its custody. While, his identity has not been established. The injured militant is said to have got injured during the attack on the MLA Sopur, Muhammad Ashraf Ganai’s residence last week
