Beyond protest

Our politicians are very articulate in making speeches and issuing press statements condemning the continued killings and the unrest in the valley. While on its side the Government policy is very clear that a stone will be reciprocated by the bullet irrespective of the circumstances, no one is appealing for calm. There is show of power and support when it is of little importance since there is a larger goal to be achieved. We have seen that even an eight year old boy killed by a bullet yet no one is evaluating the ways and means where such young and innocent souls could be saved. How the future of the kids could be secured and how the agitation could reach its logical conclusion. While the writing on the wall for India is very clear even though they may be in denial mode, yet to sustain our struggle we need to look beyond just protesting. We need to mobilize international community opinion in our favour. Every struggle has internal and external dimensions and both have to work simultaneously.
