Aasiya condemns Omar's killing

Appeals For Strengthening Bait-ul-Maals

Srinagar, Aug 25: The Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Syeda Aasiya Andrabi has accused the authorities of undertaking genocide of Kashmir for what she said quelling the ongoing movement.
In a statement, Aasiya alleged that the custodial torture of the youth Omar Bhat of Soura led to his death. “Omar was lone brother of three sisters. With his killing one more youth has become target of the troopers and cops. The brutal cops rained bullets on the people including women who were mourning over Omar’s killing,” she said.
Aasiya accused the activists of National Conference of preparing list of youth and getting them arrested. “Our youth are being arrested and tortured just for supporting the Quit Jammu and Kashmir Movement. Attempts are being made to crush the movement by continuous curfews and restrictions. However, we won’t let the blood of martyrs go waste and would take the movement to its logical conclusion,” she said.
Aasiya made a fervent appeal to people to strength the Bait-ul-Maals in mohallas and villages. “It is high time for Kashmiris to join hands and help the needy and under-privileged. People should contribute generously towards the respective Bait-ul-Maals in their localities,” she said.
Aasiya said DeM would investigate the circumstance that led to the killing of 17-year of Sameera of Khaipora Tangmarg who was found dead on Tuesday.
“After investigations we will make the findings public,” she said.
