Yasin Malik released
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Aug 25: The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, was released from custody Wednesday.
Malik was arrested on June 18 when he launched the Jail Bharo movement to protest the civilian killings in the Valley. Malik was released on June 25 but was again arrested next day when he was on way to Sopur to express sympathy with the families of two youth killed by the troopers.
Since then he was lodged in Police Station Kothibagh.
However, earlier this month, Malik who is suffering from heart ailment, was referred to New Delhi for specialized treatment.
JKLF spokesman said Malik is not feeling well and is suffering with continuous fever. The spokesman said Malik has called a session of the party’s working committee on August 27 to discuss the prevailing situation in the Valley and chalk out future program.
JKLF has strongly condemned the death of Muhammad Umar of Soura due to alleged torture by police. Many leaders and activists of the party participated in the Nimaz-e-Jinaza of the deceased. “The youth’s killing is a blatant example of state terrorism,” it said while expressing sympathy with the bereaved family. The party also condemned the use of disproportionate force on peaceful protesters in Pampore.
