Oil supply restored in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 26: J&K Oil Tankers Owners’ Association and J&K Oil Tanker Drivers, Cleaners Association on Thursday suspended their strike in Jammu region after the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah agreed to meet their leaders in Srinagar tomorrow.
The Associations however, have announced that the petroleum products’ supply to valley would remain suspended till the government does not arrange foolproof security arrangements for oil tankers on highway in Kashmir.
“Our leaders have unanimously decided to suspend strike in Jammu, but no supply to Valley would be dispatched till the CM personally assures us for foolproof security in Valley,” general secretary, J&K Oil Tanker Drivers, Cleaners Association Devinder Singh told Greater Kashmir.
The leader however made it categorical that the decision on restoration of supply to Kashmir would be taken only after the meeting with chief minister scheduled to be held in Srinagar on Friday.
