PDP demands probe

TANGMARG MURDER

Srinagar, Aug 28: Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday demanded a thorough, transparent and time bound probe into the murder of a teenage girl at Khaipora in Tangmarg.
In a statement the PDP general secretary Muhammad Dilawar Mir said the people of the area have been protesting for the last many days against the murder of Sameera Bhat, but it seems the government agencies are trying to block the investigation.
Mir regretted that instead of responding to the genuine demand of an impartial investigation the government has let unleashed terror in Khaipora, Kunzer and other villages of the area.
Condemning the reported molestation of women in the area by troopers, he said the government had acquired the habit of responding to every situation through brute force and worded that such an attitude was bound to add fuel to the fire.
